From the moment you walk into the Artisan House in Kew you know you are stepping into an impressive residence. Striking in its extensive use of finishes the marble coupled with timber features is a standout in the home.
Greeting you as you enter is an architectural mesh Kaynemaile screen in colour bronze which offers visual privacy from the foyer while tempting visitors to look beyond. Installed just beneath the start of the curved ceiling, the ceiling flows to an impressive height to allow plenty of natural light into the space. The ceiling fixed mesh hangs above the strategically placed joinery and is attached to a matching curved timber detail. It offers privacy to the lounge from the entry while also creating a visual backdrop.
Dividing the kitchen and lounge is a lush interior garden and two more Kaynemaile bronze screens which create a remarkably cosy and comfortable feel for such a large space. The mesh divides the rooms without separating them entirely, giving privacy to the second lounge area and defining the staircase and garden space which become a backdrop to the dining area.
With curves presented most dramatically in the walkway of the home they are also seen in subtler mirroring ways from the edges of the marble benchtops to the complementing furniture and finally the spiral staircase leading to a cosy lounge on the first floor.
Kaynemaile architectural mesh screens have also been used effectively for the upper rooms. Installed on the exterior of the house to provide both privacy and shade, as the mesh is shown to deflect up to 70% of visible and infrared light waves whilst not obstructing the view looking out.
This expansive renovation and extension have also provided this family home with an outdoor living area that matches the interior in grandeur complete with a teppanyaki bar and 17 m lap pool plus spa. An added basement features a gym sauna and wine room. The selection of Kaynemaile mesh pairs exceptionally well with the vast array of finishes and offers designers solutions for privacy screen for both interior and exterior areas of the project.
