Central to this approach is Rockcote Otsumigaki, a premium clay and lime plaster inspired by traditional Japanese finishing techniques. Used throughout the interior, Otsumigaki complements the home’s curved architectural forms and creates a sense of continuity between spaces. Its smooth, handcrafted finish offers subtle depth and natural variation, giving the walls character without overwhelming the simplicity of the design.

One of the most striking applications is the home’s sculptural curved staircase, where Otsumigaki follows the sweeping form and allows the surface itself to become an architectural feature. The seamless finish draws attention to the shape of the staircase, demonstrating how a carefully selected wall finish can enhance form rather than simply sit behind it.
