The 2014 Intergrain Timber Vision Awards are open and welcoming Australian and New Zealand architects, building designers, landscape architects, interior designers and other design professionals to enter projects displaying creative use of timber.
Designed to promote innovation in the industry, the Intergrain Timber Vision Awards recognise the work of professionals, with this year’s categories including Exterior Residential, Interior Residential, Exterior Commercial and Interior Commercial.
Intergrain trade brand manager, Amanda Chalmers says the awards aim to celebrate projects that push timber design boundaries. “Last year’s entries were phenomenal, showcasing outstanding industry talent. Each year the calibre of entries continues to grow and we’re expecting this year, our fifth consecutive year, to be no exception.
Timber continues to be a growing trend in both commercial and residential design and with this movement, projects are breaking away from traditional applications to using timber in new and innovative ways. We can’t wait to receive entries which speak to this sentiment, once again highlighting the important role timber plays in Australian architecture,” she says.
The entries will be assessed by a prestigious judging panel including Rob Backhouse, Managing Director of Hassell; Elizabeth Watson Brown, design director at Architectus; Cameron Bruhn from Architecture Media and Phil White, general manager, Trade Division, Dulux.
Winners will receive a $2000 cash prize plus Intergrain product to the value of $5000, while also gaining industry exposure with an editorial feature in Architecture Australia.
Entries are open now until Friday 27 June and winners will be announced in August at the Intergrain Timber Vision Awards Breakfast to be held in Melbourne.
