BVN Principal Sets Off to Explore

Mr Thompson has been with the practice for 26 years and has been instrumental in BVN’s development as a national practice during that period.

“It’s never an easy decision to leave a long-term relationship, particularly one that has been as symbiotic and immensely rewarding as that with BVN,” said Mr Thompson. However he noted that, “I decided that if I wished to exploit my enthusiasm for new technologies and processes and explore many of my other interests in architecture now was the right time for me to leave.”

BVN National Director James Grose said, “Shane’s made an extraordinary contribution to BVN over a quarter of a century that includes involvement in many award winning buildings. “He has also been a leading figure in architectural development, such as the leadership role he played in the Queensland Government’s exhibition for the Shanghai Expo last year that was aimed at promoting Queensland architects and architecture to the world.”

Mr Grose noted that, “Whilst Shane will obviously be missed, his contribution is his legacy and that will continue to underpin the wide range of projects that BVN are delivering across Australia and overseas.”
