The board provides up to six months weather protection for a building’s interior prior to cladding to create a protective enclosure without waiting for the façade to be complete. It comes in a range of standard board sizes for building professionals.

Glasroc X is a compliant solution for commercial and multi-residential projects after being tested and assessed to relevant structural, weathertightness, fire, vapour permeability, mould resistance, thermal and acoustic standards.

“Glasroc X is a high-performance, gypsum-based exterior solution that supports faster construction schedules through unpredictable conditions,” CSR general manager Renee McGinty says.

“Offering high performance, durability, fire and weather resistance, Gyprock is proud to deliver this innovative product manufactured by Saint Gobain to provide greater flexibility for busy construction sites.”

The Glasroc X has a 12.5mm thick board that’s reinforced with a glass mat and UV resistant coating to deliver strength, durability and weather resistance. It can withstand wind pressures up to +- 6kPa (ULS) and complies with weatherproofing requirements (NCC 2022 F3P1 & H2P2) and is designed to prevent water from the outside.

It can be used as part of a fire-rated wall system by achieving an FRL of up to 60/60/60 on timber and steel frames and an FRL of up to -/90/90 on steel frames.

The Glasroc X is recommended or use in climate zones 2-8. Its Class 4 vapour permeability allows moisture vapour to escape from the building structure to boost performance in colder environments where the condensation risk is increased.

The board is easy to install my scoring and snapping and screw-fix to timber or steel frames while installation uses jointing options like tape or sealant.
