The guest bathrooms at Park Lees Hotel in Kaohsiung are defined by a warm, natural aesthetic thanks to the expressive ceramic tiles from Villeroy & Boch.
Renowned for their high-quality design and longstanding reputation among architects and interior designers, the tiles bring a refined sense of texture and colour to the wellness-focused hotel.
CJ Interior Design, the Kaohsiung-based architecture studio behind the project, developed a minimalist furnishing concept that emphasises relaxed naturalness, pure materials and craftsmanship. Harmonious warm tones and organic, flowing shapes in the rooms are complemented by crisp white accents, while large floor-to-ceiling windows invite the surrounding park greenery into each suite. This sense of openness and calm extends into the bathrooms, entered via sliding doors made of grey glass, where Villeroy & Boch’s ceramic tiles create a seamless, sophisticated finish.
The MY EARTH wall and floor concept interprets the intricate textures of structured natural stone across a wide palette of colours and designs in porcelain stoneware. Meanwhile, the LUCERNA series delivers an extraordinary natural stone effect that merges the surface structures of slate with the varied veining of marble. Together, the two tile ranges offer both visual interest and a tactile richness that enhances the overall wellness experience for hotel guests.
As a family-owned brand founded in 1748 and headquartered in Mettlach, Germany, Villeroy & Boch stands for innovation, tradition and exceptional style. The company offers products in Bathroom & Wellness and Dining & Lifestyle sectors and is active in 125 countries. Its sophisticated ceramic solutions, including earthenware, stoneware and fine stoneware, provide architects and designers with a wide range of creative possibilities for private, commercial and public interiors. Many of the tiles are awarded the EPD label and can be used in projects certified under international sustainability standards such as BREEAM, LEED or DGNB.
At Park Lees Hotel, the combination of Villeroy & Boch’s premium ceramics and CJ Interior Design’s minimalist approach has created bathrooms that are not only functional and durable but also serene, visually compelling spaces. The natural stone aesthetics and detailed craftsmanship of the tiles contribute to an environment that encourages relaxation, wellbeing and a connection with nature, reinforcing the hotel’s reputation as a destination for mindful luxury.
