Showcasing world-first innovation at ISH 2015, the world’s largest bathroom fair, European brand Roca has revolutionised the toilet suite with two new toilet designs set to change the bathroom landscape of the future
Toilets: the humble cornerstone of the bathroom. While modernised from its 16th-century flushing counterpart, the toilet has remained relatively unchanged for decades. With innovation, sustainability and design in mind, international bathroom brand, Roca, is now changing the way we use toilets.
The company unveiled its in-tank toilet technology and rimless pan design at ISH 2015. Roca’s two new toilets, The Meridian In-Tank and The Gap Rimless toilet suite, are set to improve functionality, installation and hygiene. Such a breakthrough in innovation has many other major bathroom brands following suit, which proves the benefits of these technologies are not only in their aesthetics.
“These new innovations deconstruct and reinvigorate the toilet suite to create some of the most exciting toilet advancements in years,” says Reece bathroom business manager, Daniela Santilli. “More than ever, this year’s ISH bathroom fair brought toilets to the forefront of conversation
in both the international and local design community, redefining the bathroom space as we know it.”
The Meridian In-Tank from Roca integrates the cistern and button seamlessly into the pan, combining all essential elements into a single structure. The Meridian In-Tank uses Roca’s exclusive Soft Air Technology for an efficient, quiet flush, and the all-in-one model results in simpler installation and a pure design aesthetic.
“The Meridian In-Tank from Roca is a world first — an all-in-one solution that has turned toilet design and functionality on its head,” adds Daniela.
Flushing from a single point, the innovative rimless pan of Roca’s The Gap Rimless is designed as a continuous surface free of edged angles, grooves or gaps. This unique design allows water to circulate along the inner perimeter of the pan, flowing smoothly from the upper perimeter, moving in a circular motion toward the lower outlet. Dirt doesn’t accumulate in gaps or grooves, but is quickly removed, achieving a better clean.
“The Gap Rimless toilet suite proves how subtle design innovations can change the game, resulting in better cleaning and higher hygiene,” says Daniela.
Setting the standard for the bathroom of the future, the Meridian In-Tank and The Gap Rimless are taking the possibilities of toilet design to a new level.
