BDAV named CPD Provider of the Year

The award, presented by Minister for Planning Matthew Guy on behalf of the Victorian Building Commission, recognises excellence in the provision of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

“The BDAV is committed to providing relevant training opportunities for members and we are thrilled to accept this award,” said BDAV Executive Director Brian Morison. The BDAV’s members, which include building designers, architectural draftspersons, thermal performance assessors and home sustainability assessors, all benefit from access to a high-quality professional development program.

“With our members increasingly focused on sustainable built design, there has never been a more important time to ensure they are kept up-to-date with developments in the design and construction sector,” said Mr Morison. A rigorous CPD program means the community can have confidence in the work of BDAV members and clients can be assured that all work will be completed to a high standard.

With members located around Victoria, the BDAV works hard to ensure CPD opportunities are available to all members. “During the year, seminars are delivered in regional areas and our entire CPD program is available on DVD for members who are unable to attend a session,” said Mr Morison.

Professional development for BDAV members covers a range of topics including emerging trends, legal issues, business management, and planning regulation. “Keeping our members up-to-date ensures they are able to provide clients with the most current information and options regarding materials, regulations and design styles,” said Mr Morison. “We are delighted to have again won the CPD Provider of the Year award. It is a great achievement for the BDAV and we look forward to maintaining this high standard into the future,” said Mr Morison.
